IT Support Services

Description:
The IT Support Services incumbent reports directly to the IT Manager and works in collaboration with all departments within the Company.


POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Respond to calls from customers in a timely and professional manner;
 Resolve customer issues;
 Maintain detailed records for proper tracking, resolution and follow-up;
 Reposition and maintain asset inventory;
 User Administration;
 Ability to manage confidential information;
 Ensure a high level of customer service;
 Other related duties as required.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

 Technical Diploma or equivalent training and experience combined;
 Minimum 2 years working in a technical support capacity;
 Proficient in Microsoft Office 2003 products;
 Knowledge of Microsoft Server 2003 and Microsoft Exchange 2003, an asset.

IJoist/Truss Designer - Truline Truss

Available: Thursday, May 1st, 2008 Expires: Friday, May 16th, 2008
Location: Creston, BC

Description:
The Truss Designer reports directly to the Divisional Manager and is responsible for all elements of truss design for Pacific Building Systems.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensure a high level of internal and external communication
• Work in collaboration with salesperson and customer to determine customer needs
• Read plans and translate into a practical and tangible design
• Implement and maintain computer file management for each project
• Enter specifications and pertinent layout information, engineer beams, joists and trusses and produce project cost sheets
• Coordinate sealed engineering with professional engineer
• Assist other departments with obtaining layout and engineering information
• Aid contractors directly by answering technical questions and offering advice suited to the success of their project
• Assist co-workers by sharing knowledge and skill to ensure the overall success of the company

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• Engineering Technology Diploma, together with 3 years of relevant engineering or construction experience
• Able to use company design software programs (Mitek, Online Plus and Quick Tools), Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
• Ability to accurately read plans and visualize in three dimension
• Knowledge of field requirements and plant production requirement for details
• Understanding loading conditions pertaining to truss, beam and joist analysis
• Sound knowledge of building code requirements

Truss Sales Support Assistant

Description:
The Truss Sales Support Assistant reports directly to the Truss Design Team and is responsible for performing all sales support activities for the Pacific Building Systems Truss Sales Team.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensure a high level of internal and external customer service
• Read plans and prepare take offs listing materials required and cost quotes
• Support Sales Staff as required
• Work in collaboration with salesperson and customer to determine customer needs
• Implement and maintain computer file management for each project
• Enter specifications and pertinent layout information and produce project cost sheets
• Aid contractors directly by answering technical questions and offering advice suited to the success of their project.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Clear Quote (training for internal programs will be provided)
• Minimum of 2 years experience in the construction or related field
• Ability to read plans and specifications
• Strong mathematical aptitude
• Ability to accurately read plans and visualize in three dimension
• Understanding loading conditions pertaining to truss, beam and joist analysis
• Sound knowledge of building code requirements

Truss Production

Available: Friday, November 2nd, 2007 Expires: Tuesday, January 15th, 2008
Location: Cobble Hill, BC

Description:
Pacific Building Systems is currently accepting resumes to fill F/T production positions at our Cobble Hill facility. Successful candidates will be reliable with a positive attitude, motivated and physically fit. Training is provided but framing experience would be an asset. Starting rate is $ 12.50 / hour with regular increases over three years to $19.20 / hr. Individuals with truss production experience and / or a valid Level II first-aid certification may be eligible for an increased starting rate.
